For years, the Elemental Chi website was run on a free content management system (CMS) called Drupal. While Drupal is still free, the organizers have gone into the direction of focusing on more "enterprise-level" projects (that is, large companies with lots of money). In the long run, this means Drupal will require more overhead in terms of technology and knowledge.
